PlanWerk closes $410 million Series B at a $2.7 billion valuation, becoming the first unicorn to be spiritually available
Round led by Sunk Cost Capital. Company says proceeds will be used to “find out what this costs.”
MELBOURNE, Australia, 9 September 2026 (PlanWerk Wire). PlanWerk today announced the close of a $410 million Series B at a $2.7 billion post-money valuation, led by Sunk Cost Capital with participation from Runway Ahead Partners, Momentum Adjacent, Bird Fund III, and a group of angel investors who cannot be named for reasons, chiefly that they have not yet agreed.
The round makes PlanWerk one of the most valuable resource capacity platforms in the world that is not available to use. The company described its product availability as “spiritual” and its annual recurring revenue as “forthcoming.” Total funding to date stands at $442.2 million, or $44.2 million on some slides.
“We looked at a lot of companies. Most had customers, revenue and a product, which frankly made them hard to get excited about. PlanWerk had a founder who answered every diligence question with conviction. We did not ask about revenue. It felt rude.”
Bradley Vance, Managing Partner, Sunk Cost Capital
Momentum
The company reports strong signals across every metric it has chosen to measure. 92% of early access allocation has been claimed. Seventeen offices are operating, allegedly. PlanWerk University has a 100% pass rate. And PlanWerk holds a commanding lead in a category that Sebastian is still defining.
How we will use the funds
- Hire a person to build the product. A search is under way and Sebastian is “optimistic.”
- A third wall for The Framework, following INC-002.
- Legal fees relating to the domain matter, and to a fictional jurisdiction.
- Seventeen offices, of which the company hopes to locate at least four.
- Offsites, to discuss the above.
“Today is a milestone. I want to thank the team, our investors, and my wife, who has heard about this a great deal. We’re building the category, and in due course a product. This funding gives us the runway to do both, in whichever order.”
Sebastian Klett, Founder & CEO
“The size of the round means Gemini can finally pursue its ambitions. Those ambitions are also under review.”
Tom Ross, Head of Gemini
